What if I’m not a Christian?

That’s O.K.! There are people in our church community who are not Christians -- they’re simply looking for answers. We believe that God has meaningful solutions to life’s problems. Together, maybe we can help you find answers.

What if I Want to Become a Christian?

As you attend City Lights, you will learn more and more about who Jesus is, why he lived and died, and what it means to include him in your life. Being a Christian is more than just attending church or belonging to a certain family. It’s a relationship where the Living God becomes real to you and you respond to Jesus and his teaching with your whole life. We regularly give people who would like to respond to Jesus a chance to accept him at the end of our services. You can’t do this until you’re ready and when you’re really ready, you will know. Here’s what we know from the Bible about the process of becoming a follower of Jesus Christ:

  1.  Believe in your heart that Jesus is God's son, that He died for you, and that God raised Him from the dead (just in case you want to look it up--Romans 5:8 & Romans 10:9).
  2. Ask Him to forgive you and come into your life (if you've never done anything wrong, you may skip this part--check out Romans 3:22-24 & Romans 10:13).
  3. Follow Jesus in getting baptized--Mark 16:16).
  4. Commit to the church family at City Lights where you will learn to do what Jesus did and to live what the Bible teaches (John 14:12-15).
