Ben Powers
Ben is the lead pastor of our church. He and his wife Tonya planted City Lights in October 2003 with the help of a small group of 9 additional people. For three years prior to moving to Saint Louis, Ben was an Associate Pastor at
Vine
Community
Church in
Carbondale, IL. Before that he attended Huntington University and then attended
Trinity
Evangelical
Divinity
School where he graduated with a master's of Divinity. Tonya brings balance to their marriage. We all know that Ben could not survive without her. They have a 4 year old son Owen, who loves dinosaurs and sword fighting. They just had their second child Maya Powers. They both desire to create a church that lives out Jesus' message of truth, community and service.
Responsibilities: Preaching, Raising up leaders, Casting vision for the church.
