As you know, health experts and government authorities continue to make new guidelines to curb the outbreak of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in the United States. Therefore, we have updated our approach which is outlined below.
Due to the current St. Louis County public health orders, we are currently holding indoor services at First Baptist Church – St. John. The service time is 8:45 am and lasts approximately one hour. The church address is:
8665 St Charles Rock Rd
St. Louis, MO 63114
The parking lot for the church is located behind the building. Turn right at McKibbon Rd. (the light) and you will see the lot. Please enter where you see the blue awning labeled "Worship Center."
Our building at 8675 Olive Blvd. does not have the capacity for us to stay within good standing of the current health orders and still keep the church together in one service. As it stands, we would have to split into at least 2 services, which is not our desire. Through the graciousness of FBC St. John, we will still be able to meet as one church as their auditorium allows us to be well within the capacity restrictions currently in place.
Service is held with the following safety protocol:
Masks are required throughout the entire service.
No gathering in hallways or elsewhere in the building in close proximity to one another. Before and after service, visiting is encouraged outside.
Every other pew is closed to encourage social distancing.
Those who live in the same household may sit together. Otherwise, please adhere to a minimum of 6 feet separation from others.
Hand sanitizer stations will be made available and usage is strongly encouraged.
No coffee is allowed in the sanctuary, so please do not bring it with you. Water is allowed.
There is currently no kids program, children are welcome to attend service with their parents.
There is access to a nursing mother’s room. It is located in the main lobby, through the back doors of the sanctuary.
No offering is taken during the Sunday service. There are three main methods to give which you can view here: www.citylightsconnect.com/giving
Those who are at high risk or uncomfortable attending can view a live stream via our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/citylights.stl
We strongly recommend anyone who feels sick to remain at home and view the live stream as well.
Small groups are still meeting and continue to be one of the main sources of fellowship in the church. Some small groups are meeting virtually while others are in person, following current safety protocol. You can find a small group here: www.citylightsconnect.com/small-groups
Please contact the group leader before visiting a small group, to catch up on where and how they are currently meeting.
Our Youth Group is currently meeting via Zoom.
