Learning to love Jesus
City Lights Kids
At City Lights, we know family plays the most important role in the discipleship of children. We want to be a place where families learn, grow, and find encouragement as they learn how to follow Jesus together.
Jesus said, "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God." (Luke 18:16) Children are so important to Jesus. He loves their capacity to trust and their ability to believe with great joy.
We want to view children the way Jesus does! Our Kids' Program is designed so that your child will creatively learn about Jesus and the basics of Christian life in the same way parents do during service. Our goal is not to replace but to supplement family devotion.
What to Expect in the Classrooms
Bible Teaching: We use a Bible-based curriculum to provide a fun, engaging, and age appropriate way for the kids to learn God’s truths from the Bible. As children grow older, we teach them how to apply the God’s Word to their lives.
Friendship: We want every child to build great friendships. During class, we play games together to encourage and foster lasting friendships.
Prayer: At City Lights, we believe that it is very important to teach children how to pray and how to expect God to grow and change them. During class, we always take time to pray for each other.
Worship: Each of our classes engage in worship using age-appropriate songs. We teach many songs that are also sung during our adult service. As part of worship, we provide an opportunity for children to give offerings.
How to register your child on a Sunday morning
We begin welcoming children into our Kids’ Program at 8:45 and 10:45 AM. You will want to register your child at the welcome desk located just down the stairs from the lobby and then one of our trained workers will escort your child to his or her class.
If it’s your 1st time attending City Lights, you will see a Kids Guest Check-in Table located down the steps and to the right. A greeter will be there to welcome you and get you started.
