Learning to love Jesus
City Lights Kids
At City Lights, we cherish the well-being of the children God has put in our charge.
Did you know that Jesus paid special attention to children when he was teaching? It was Jesus who said, "The kingdom of heaven belongs to the children," and "Whoever wants to be the greatest needs to become like a child," and "You'd do better to tie a rope and throw yourself into the sea than to drive a little one away from God!" Children were so important to Jesus. He loved their capacity to trust, their ability to believe, and their tendency to laugh and play. At City Lights Church we want to view our children the way Jesus did! We want to serve them well. We have designed our Kid's Program so that your child will creatively learn about Jesus and the basics of Christian life.
What to Expect in the Classrooms
Bible Teaching: We use a Bible-based curriculum to provide a fun, engaging, and age appropriate way for the kids to learn God’s truths from the Bible. As children grow older, we teach them how to apply the God’s Word to their lives.
Friendship: We want every child to build great friendships. During class, we play games together to encourage and foster lasting friendships.
Prayer: At City Lights, we believe that it is very important to teach children how to pray and how to expect God to grow and change them. During class, we always take time to pray for each other.
Worship: Each of our classes engage in worship using age-appropriate songs. We teach many songs that are also sung during our adult service. As part of worship, we provide an opportunity for children to give offerings.
How to register your child on a Sunday morning
We begin welcoming children into our Kids’ Program at 8:45 and 10:45 AM You will want to register your child at the welcome desk located just down the stairs from the lobby and then one of our trained workers will escort your child to his or her class.
If it’s your first time attending City Lights, there is a Kids’ Host at the welcome desk who will help you find your way.
